Marilyn F. Booker is the Founder, President and CEO of OPPSWell, the premiere B2B networking app providing a safe space for businesses to connect, share best practices and get on the radar screens of other companies for contracting opportunities. A Wall Street veteran of nearly 30 years, Marilyn served as Head of Morgan Stanley’s Urban Markets Group for 11+ years and as Morgan Stanley’s first Global Head of Diversity, Supplier Diversity, Work-Life, EEO and Human Resources Policy for 17+ years.
Marilyn is an accomplished wealth management professional who focused on working in underserved communities and teaching financial education programs nationally. She has also written numerous published articles about the many aspects of smart money management and produced an IGTV Series called Bank on Booker which explored the many facets of saving, investing and understanding the financial markets. Marilyn has her Series 7, 9, 10 and 66 FINRA licenses. She also hosts a podcast called Small Business Big Story that highlights and celebrates the successes of small business owners.
A resident of Las Vegas, Marilyn is currently the Vice Chair of the City of Las Vegas Audit Committee. A licensed attorney, Marilyn has practiced in the areas of criminal defense litigation, municipal finance, corporate bankruptcies and corporate restructuring. She also was the first Black attorney to clerk for a White judge in the then 110-year history of the Illinois Appellate Court.
A native of Chicago, Marilyn received her B.A. magna cum laude from Spelman College and her J.D. from the Illinois Institute of Technology – Chicago Kent College of Law. She is a board member and Chair of the Finance Committee for BeyGOOD, a non-profit founded and run by Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and that focuses on changing the world for GOOD. She is also a board member of Girls Make Beats, a non-profit that teaches young girls how to become music producers.
A member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and the Executive Leadership Council, Marilyn is a former trustee of the Morgan Stanley Foundation, a former member of The Morgan Stanley Benefit Plan Administrative Committee, a former member of the Morgan Stanley Residential Franchise Risk Committee and served as Co-Chair of the legendary Apollo Theater’s Women’s Committee. She is also on the Finance Committee for her HOA in Las Vegas.
A frequent speaker at Harvard University and other prestigious institutions such as Wharton, Webster University, BCG and the Dallas Bar Association, Marilyn also testified before the U.S. House of Representatives Financial Services Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations at its hearing on “Diversity in the Financial Services Sector.” She was also a graduation speaker for the William & Mary Law School.

Marilyn is the proud parent of three lovely children and her interests are golf, tennis, bowling, playing the piano, having jam sessions with her children and making a difference in the lives of others.
